Two new singles are live ✨

It’s been a big few weeks with the release of Trains, Dinosaurs, and Hotel Corridors on the 7th of August, followed in quick succession by Did You Think Of Me? just last week on the 21st of August.

It’s a strange time to have these songs out in the world. I keep seeing “Did You Think Of Me?” next to the cover of me flipping the bird, squished between stories of ‘more important’ things like Dolly Parton’s and Tim Curry’s passing. There’s a little voice in my head that says, you really should be thinking of others at this time. It feels a bit selfish to ask people if they have considered me, when there is so much to be focused on.

On the flip-side, I have been brutally honest with my pitches, particularly on those for Trains, and it’s elicited an amazing response from curators, bloggers, and radio folk. Most are a little shocked, but overwhelmingly they want to support because honesty and raw emotion hard to come by these days. It’s a green flag for them to be honest, and upset about the way things are going, but also for those who we love - the good ones - that seem to be taken away too-soon.

It’s easy to be angry, but we don’t always feel as though we have permission to express it. Moreover, for women - that we don’t have safety to express it, and that it may be conflated with other issues (like mental health) or weakness (too hormonal or emotional).

But - here it is. Anger, disappointment, sadness - but also - the desire to be witnessed in this state. It’s a wish - to those who wish to hurt and take advantage of others to see the damage they do and to consider that other person, those other people, as equal and seperate from their own desires from them. After all, we’re all just humans. Each single, individual one.

Make sure you’re taking the time to look. There’s magic in you, but there’s also a slightly different magic in each and every one of us x
