Vyvyan Hammond has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. “When I was four, I’d ride around on my BMX making up songs in the bush, singing to the trees,” she says. “It was just how I made sense of the world.”
Now, after years of writing quietly and relentlessly, Vyvyan is stepping out with her debut single Play Pretend, releasing this August. Her first full-length album, Lovers Gonna Love, Haters Gonna Watch, is set to follow in early 2026.
For Vyvyan, the timing isn’t random. “So much has shifted in the world lately—it pushed me to stop waiting. I’ve got something to say, and I want to find the people who need to hear it.”
Originally from Sydney, her music is steeped in raw feeling, lyrical honesty, and a sense of place shaped by a life spent observing, questioning, and creating. This is just the beginning—but it’s been a long time coming.
