Independent Australian singer songwriter Vyvyan Hammond returns with her third single of 2025, “Starseed”, featuring acclaimed singer and actor Clare Bowen (Nashville, now streaming on Netflix). The track will be available on all major digital streaming platforms from November 11, 2025.
Following the atmospheric intimacy of “Play Pretend” and the earthy reflection of “Hunter Gathered,” Hammond’s “Starseed” marks a deeply personal evolution — a shimmering alt-pop meditation on self-acceptance, identity, and finding meaning after years of feeling out of place.
At its heart, “Starseed” is a song about living a lifetime feeling “different,” only to later discover that difference is neurodivergence. The lyrics — “Did you leave it all behind… can’t you see it’s your time?” — trace the emotional landscape of late diagnosis: grief for lost understanding, relief in clarity, and ultimately, celebration of self.
“For a long time, I thought there was something wrong with me for feeling the world so deeply,” Vyvyan shares. “Learning about Autism and ADHD after navigating the diagnosis of my children, reframed everything. ‘Starseed’ is about embracing sensitivity, that strangeness — not as a flaw, but as a gift.”
Produced by Paul Greene, including his lead of the local Nowra choir, The Joyful Strains, and anchored by Clare Bowen’s radiant harmonies, “Starseed” glows with both fragility and strength. Its chorus — “That soft love fits like a glove for humankind” — lands as both a mantra and a revelation: an invitation to radical self-love and acceptance in a world that often misunderstands neurodivergent experience.
“Starseed” will be complimented by an animated Music Video by US based 3D artist, Nicholas Kempton at 60 Degree Studio in Ohio. Kempton has produced work for New York Times, Amazon, Adobe, The Telegraph and Bad Bunny.
With her 2025 releases, Vyvyan Hammond has steadily built a reputation for writing songs that balance emotional depth with cinematic sound. “Starseed” continues that trajectory — a luminous anthem for anyone learning to see themselves, maybe for the very first time.
