Play Pretend is here!

Whut whut!

My debut single has finally launched and you can catch it on all the usual suspects. I’ll add a listen page here.

But the most important thing for me to do right now, is thank the people who made it exist.

Most importantly, there’d be no Play Pretend without Mr Paul Greene and Sounds Delicious Studios. The composer, the producer, the instrumental whizz. Paul even played drums on this one!

Funny story about Play Pretend, it existed in three different iterations. First as a front-runner for favourite demo, then as what I would aptly describe to Paul as “baby elephant walk” (complete with trumpets), and then how it is now when it all came together one morning in studio. It has been both the hardest, and easiest song. Thanks for sticking with it, Paulie.

A big thanks to the Master of Mixes, William Bowden for his work on making it sound just that little bit more epic.

You can now check out the full music video on YouTube. It was created by the amazing humans at Makker Studio. Including direction by Mitchel Loveday, Photography by Zach Bowden and Production by Jei Strolin.

Funny story about the guys at Makker, their office is across the street from my house so I first emailed them by finding their address after googling the name on their van with “hi from across the street, do you make music videos?”. They’re also working on final edits to the music video for Hunter Gathered, which will be the second single - coming out in a month or so.

Probably the biggest thanks to my husband, Peter. It’s been a big year. It’s not lost on most people that this is a real doozy that I’ve sprung on you, and you’ve run with it like a champion. Thank you for being my OG hype girl and protector.

Much love to all of my amazing friends too. I wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you for the chats, the drinks, the shout outs, the cuddles and the tears. You make me brave enough to write and record an album after 20 years in another career.

You guys must be made of magic.

Can’t wait to share Hunter Gathered with you all VERY SOON. The clown isn’t done yet!
